UAE committee calls for day of prayer on May 14 to end Covid-19 pandemic

Appeal by the World Committee for Humanity to observe May 14 as a day of prayer.

Al-Azhar Uni- Imam Ahmad al-Tayyib has also welcomed the announcement.

Abu Dhabi (Sadaatweb news 04.05.2020) : The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has issued a statement calling on people of all faiths around the world to observe a day of prayer on May 14 to end the global corona virus epidemic.

The statement said that every human being, wherever he may be, according to his religion, belief or creed, should fast on May 14, pray to God for the good of all humanity.

In addition to Pope Francis from the Vatican, Al-Azhar University's Imam Ahmad al-Tayyib has also welcomed the announcement.

In separate statements, the head of the United Arab Emirates and the Secretary-General of the United Nations have endorsed the observance of World Prayer Day on May 14.
