Abu Dhabi Police has warned that hand sanitizers should not be kept in vehicles for a long time in summer season. Most people are committing this act which is a serious violation of traffic rules. If any driver or rider is found doing so, he will be fined one thousand dirhams and 6 traffic points will also be registered.

This is because sanitizers contain alcohol, which increases the risk of fire in hot weather. Police say sanitizers and gloves catch fire very quickly. And if they are kept in the sun during hot weather or left in the car, they can catch fire.

Wagons and drivers have to be very careful in this matter. Because of the current Corona epidemic, the use of sanitizers and gloves has increased across the country.
If the sanitizers are kept in the car at high temperature or in the hot sun, it can explode and cause a fire.

Drivers should not keep their car windows completely closed, especially when the car is parked in an open space.

Also, be careful not to leave perfumes and lighters inside the car. Children should not be allowed near the fire in the kitchen immediately after applying sanitizer on their hands. Special care should be taken in this regard. Similarly, gloves should not be brought near the fire. Parents should warn their children of the dangers associated with sanitizer, especially when they are in the kitchen.

Sanitizer contains up to 70% ethanol, a flammable substance, said Jude Madard, a UAE-based health and environmentalist. Ethanol begins to boil at very low temperatures. Ethanol vapor in a hand sanitizer bottle creates a great deal of pressure in the summer, which can be dangerous if several barbel bottles explode. That is why these sanitizers must be kept in a well-ventilated and cool place.

Abu Dhabi Police warned the public against using the "lighter" of cigarettes or approaching the flame of fire, whether in the kitchens or restaurants immediately after using the hand sanitizer, as it is considered a flammable material, which may endanger the safety of individuals.

He also called on community members to be careful when using hand sanitizers and not to leave them for long periods in vehicles, especially with high temperatures during the summer.

He also appealed to the parents that it is necessary to play their role in educating the children and the household labor category about the preventive measures to protect themselves from the danger of sterilizers, because they contain high levels of flammable materials.

He pointed out that most sterilizers contain alcohol, which helps reduce the risk of infection, "Covid-19", and sterilizers usually contain a different concentration of alcohol from one sterilizer to another.
