Law enforcement in the US state of Georgia is investigating the shooting of a black man in Atlanta who later died of his wounds.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said today, Saturday, that the police were called to a fast food restaurant after complaining that a man fell asleep inside his car in the corridor designated to receive meals from the vehicles.
The man failed to pass the dregs test and the police tried to detain him. This was followed by a conflict between the suspect and the policemen over an electric detonator of the police.
Georgia's FBI initially reported that the 27-year-old was shot during the conflict.
The FBI later said that a review of the CCTV footage showed that the man, named Reichar Brooks, "got the police electric shock of a police officer and proceeded to flee from the scene."
'',The policemen chase Brooks on foot,'' - Brooks said: "Brooks turned on during the chase and directed the detonator to the policeman- The latter fired his weapon to hit Brooks,"
It is noteworthy that the American - African citizen George Floyd was killed by a white policeman who has sparked protests across the country in the past few weeks.
