Why does my mask smell so bad?
With mandatory wearing of masks to prevent corona virus infection, many people feel bad breath, behind the muzzle, and from here doctors emphasized that there are several factors and causes that cause that smell.

Eating foods or drinks that may cause bad breath such as coffee, garlic, fish, eggs, onions, and spicy food are the foods we eat, and may cause bad breath, and it is advised to fight bad smells through some foods such as lemon, parsley, fruit, vegetables and apples, or carrots, all of which stimulate the production of saliva.
Eating a lot of sweets causes an unpleasant smell, but if you are a fan of sweets, regular chocolate is the best, because it contains less sugar than many other sweets, and is soluble more quickly in the mouth.
Following a diet low in carbohydrates, this process will lead to the emergence of "ketones", whose presence in abundance is not considered a good thing, so that there is no choice in front of your body other than excreting them through urine and breathing.
On the other hand, this leads to bad breath, so it is advised to drink more water to flush out “ketones” from your body. If you use mint, candy, or frankincense, make sure it is sugar-free.
Breathing from the mouth leads to dry mouth, which makes the smell of yourself worse, and the solution lies in drinking plenty of water, and keeping teeth clean in the morning and at night. Dentists also suggest regular checks.
Taking some medications may lead to dry mouth, and then talk to your doctor to prescribe a medication that will not reduce the amount of saliva.
A stuffy nose or an allergy causes a person to breathe through the mouth, leading to tissue dryness and a decrease in the amount of saliva, and many prescriptions and over-the-counter medications used to combat colds, flu, and allergies cause dry mouth more than the nose.
Smoking or chewing tobacco and hot fumes reduce your ability to smell and taste.
An underlying medical condition and vomiting food or acid in the mouth can easily cause bad breath.
Do not neglect this, as gastric reflux can easily develop into a serious illness, and bad breath may also be an early sign of a disease without external symptoms.
